Spider-Man, Marvel Comic's web-slinging good guy, swung into the popular culture in 1963, becoming an instant sensation. Spider-Man comics soon lead to animated TV shows and with the onset of the golden age of the action figure just beginning, your friendly neighborhood crime-fighter was poised to become one of the most celebrated action figures in toy history.
Spider-Man, like any great pop culture icon, turned out to be very well-suited for adapting to changing times and showed an innate staying power among generation after generations of kids. No matter if you grew up in the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90's, chances are you had a Spider-Man action figure or two in your collection.
