Usually, action figures based on live-action movies tend to strive for a certain amount of realism with their sculpts and paint applications. In the case of the Dragonball Z: Evolution figures, Ban Dai went with a sort of hybrid figure that is ultimately more stylized that how the actors appeared in the movie, yet far more realistic than the cartoon counterparts.
The packaging alone demands a collector's attention with shots of the figure in action, brilliant colors and a specially molded blister card. All of this adds up to the clear intention of these figures being made for play, but with all of the qualities collector's look for in their display figures.
