Ben Leach Ransack was one of the second year Transformers that used molds from the toy company Bandai instead of Takara. Because of the conflict, this character was never featured in the comics or the cartoons. Ransack, one of the deluxe Insecticons from the second year, was first made in Japan by another toy company called Bandai. Bandai was in direct competition with Takara for the changeable robot market. In fact, Tonka brought many of Bandai's robots to the United States with their toy line Go-Bots. It's because of this competition that toys that were originally made by Bandai but marketed as Transformers could not be promoted through the comics or the cartoon series. |
