Each wave of the Lego Minfigures line adds 16 new figures for collectors to rush out and collect. There were some incredible minifigures from Series 1 to Series 5, and Series 6 has five great figures that stand out too. Consider yourself lucky if you manage to get the following five figures from the blind bagged Lego Minifigures Series 6.
1. Genie
The reason the Genie minifigure stands out is because its design is totally unique. Gone are the standard minifigure legs, replaced with the really well designed floating "tail" coming out of a magic lamp base. This is an iconic genie design that has been translated into Lego form extremely well.
The figure also features a lot of great accessory elements. The large hat is sculpted perfectly, and can have so many uses outside of this figure. The magic lamp base is equally well done, and great for custom minifigures. This figure looks great, is a lot of fun, and adds some great new pieces to the Lego blocks assortment.
2. Lady Liberty
The Lady Liberty minifigure may not be ideal for army building, and doesn't add a lot of useful pieces to the Lego pieces selection, but she looks absolutely perfect. I don't think Lego could have produced a better-looking minifigure based on the Statue of Liberty. The hat is striking and accurate, the paint deco on her chest looks great without overwhelming the design, and both of her accessories are spot-on. If you secretly wished for a Statue of Liberty minifigure, then your dreams have definitely come true.
3. Roman Soldier
The ability to "army build" is a great asset with the Lego Minifigures line. Because these figures are sold in packaging that makes it impossible to determine which figure is inside, there's a good possibility that you'll end up with duplicate figures. Figures that are complementary to building a large group aren't as problematic when it comes to doubles, triples, or even more.
The Roman Soldier is the ideal example of a figure that suits army building, as it's a generic soldier design that only gets better as you add more figures. It wouldn't be much of an army without weapons and armor, and this figure is loaded with them. Its helmet, shield, and spear are all period-appropriate and make it a really fun figure whether in a group of 20 or on its own.
4. Minotaur
The Minotaur is a must-have minifigure for many of the same reasons the Genie is. It features a fantastic head piece that makes the figure completely unique and convincingly turns a minifigure into an imposing Minotaur. With all the medieval and fantasy sets Lego has had in the past, the Minotaur is a natural addition.
Whereas other mythological creatures in Lego's past have been made of totally new sculpts, I like how this figure is converted from a standard minifigure. It doesn't clash with the style of other figures, but manages to look large enough. Although his axe is nothing new, it adds to the value and fun of this figure.
5. Classic Alien
Lego has produced a lot of different aliens over the years, including past examples in the Lego Minifigure line. Despite the variety of aliens that have been released, Lego never created an alien minifigure based on the classic almond-eyes style. That is until Series 6 and this great figure hit store shelves.
Among the other classic monsters in the line, many consider the Alien another addition to that great list. This figure has a brand new head, and a standard Lego blaster gun. It may not look like much, but the Classic Alien has been a long time coming, and satisfies a lot of fans' wishes.
