Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats! Hoooooooooooooooooo!!!

According to a press release from Bandai America, it will soon be time to once again feel the magic and hear the roar!

Fans have been screaming for the return of the feline humanoids for years and it appears that they will finally get their wish with an updated Cartoon Network revamp animated series and the obligatory toy line that comes with that. So if you're longing for the glory days of the mid-80s, then put on your Jams, grab your Trapper Keeper and get ready to get totally radical, dude.

According to the Bandai press release:

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) announced today a powerhouse partnership with Bandai America Incorporated, as the global master toy licensee for the animated series, ThunderCats. Under the new agreement, Bandai and their international affiliates will create and distribute products worldwide that will complement both the classic brand property, as well as Cartoon Network's fresh take on the animated series, with new television episodes set to air in 2011.

"With their legacy of cultivating fun and fresh play experiences for beloved character properties, Bandai is the ideal master toy license for ThunderCats," said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "We are thrilled to team up and introduce the ThunderCats property to a new generation of fans."

I cant think of a worse company to make the highly anticipated relaunch of the Thundercats figures.Do collectors want Thundercats that are made like the power rangers or have the horrid scale issues that plague the Ben 10 figures? I dont..

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I’m a little worried, too. I was hoping that Mattel (despite their MOTUC issues) got the license, to see what the Four Horsemen could do with the Thundercats. Oh well.
