Han & Leia Sittin' in a Tree...

Friday September 4, 2009

We all know the rest of the rhyme, and we all know how it ends. Well, in the case of Han Solo and Princess Leia, it ends in the birth of a set of twins, namely Jacen and Jaina, the two strong-with-the-force offspring of a tough-talking princess and a Corellian space pirate, and incidentally the nephew and neice of Luke Skywalker and the grandchildren of Darth Vader. Think about that for a second; had Darth Vader not died at the end of Return of the Jedi, would have been grandpa. That's sweet.

Well, fans of the Star Wars novels that take place after the movie episodes have long been dying for action figures of the two kids destined to rebuild the Jedi presence in the galaxy. Thanks to Hasbro's new "Droid Factory" series, the wait is over! For the very first time, collectors can get their hands on the Jedi twins along with a slew of other, somewhat obscure, Star Wars characters. It seems that Lucas Properties has finally run out of aliens shown for .03 seconds in the background of the cantina, and has to resort to making figures people actually want. Yay, for us!

For more information on the Droid Factory series and Jacen and Jaina Organa-Skywalker-Solo (or whatever their last name is), head on over to Jedi Insider.

Does this mean that we can finally have our long-awaited Star Wars Holiday Special Chewbacca's family action figures, now?
