Name That Action Figure! June 19th, 2009

Friday June 19, 2009

I cannot believe how quickly you all can name a mystery action figure! Or perhaps I'm more impressed by how easily people can spot Lion-O's left boot. Who knew that action figure footwear was such an important subject? Anyway, big, monstrous applause goes out to all of the correct guessers, especially Action Figure Guide reader, simply known as "Louie", for getting in there first.

As mentioned, last week's mystery action figure was indeed Lion-O from the Thundercats line released by toy-makers LJN in 1985. Although I was a little too old for Thundercats in their initial release, I always watched the cartoon and would check out the action figures on the toy aisle shelves. Later, after my transition from "play to display," I managed to pick up several Thundercats figures at a garage sale for a steal. Today, the Thundercats action figures hold their own on the collectibles market with mint on card (usually labeled, "MOC") figures valued around $25-$60. Loose figures from this line are still rather inexpensive and can often be found for less than $10 each.

Now on to this week's mystery figure! I'm not sure if I've made this one hard enough for you action figure geniuses, but we'll see. So take a look and then make your guess on this week's Name That Action Figure!
