Bif Bang Pow! Offers Klytus Death Scene SDCC Exclusive Figure

Wednesday June 10, 2009

Remember the classic 1980 Flash Gordon movie? The one with all the horrible special effects, silly music, terrible acting and yet was somehow still one of the greatest movies ever made? Yeah, that one. Well, the action figure-making maniacs over at Bif Bang Pow! honored the movie with a release of brilliantly detailed Flash Gordon movie figures, with many variants exclusive only to Entertainment Earth, and somehow connected with comic book artist Alex Roth. They've released figures of Flash, Dale Arden, Ming, Prince Barin, and Klytus (but no Princess Aura? Argh!) and it's Klytus who gets the latest exclusive makeover.

Klytus, Ming the Merciless' right hand man, who looks like an odd combination of Darth Vader and C-3PO, met a gruesome fate towards the end of the movie (did I just let out a spoiler?) and fans of the movie are sure to remember the tongue-wagging, eye-bulging demise of one of planet Mongo's meanest baddies. Now collector's can re-enact the scene with their very own Klytus Death Scene action figure, which sports a face only a mother, or an evil alien dictator, could love.

The figure is being released in conjunction with the San Diego Comic Con and will be available there first, booth #2343 to be exact, or you can pre-order one at Entertainment Earth. Or follow the link for more Flash Gordon figures, but sadly, as I may have mentioned before, no Princess Aura. *sigh*

That’s hilarious! I love all things Flash Gordon, but this one takes the cake!
