The Dude Arrives in Plastic

Saturday December 22, 2007
No Country for Old Men is the latest movie from the critically acclaimed Coen brothers. Even though that film has been nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards recently, another Coen brothers movie has the distinction of having its own action figures. Ironically, this comes nearly ten years after the film was released in theaters.

The movie I'm talking about is The Big Lebowski, starring Jeff Bridges and John Goodman, and the figures I'm talking about are made by a fairly new toy company called Bif Bang Pow!, and they're just beginning to ship to stores now. Their official name is The Big Lebowski Urban Achiever Vinyl Action Figures, and the first series contains the two most important characters, The Dude (Jeff Bridges) and Walter (John Goodman).

The Big Lebowski has gained a massive cult following over the ten years since its release, and thankfully, the group of people that most embraces the film is also within the prime action figure collecting demographic. These are obviously aimed for adult collectors, since the movie features its fair share of profanity and violence, so be sure to look for these in specialty shops, or purchase them online from e-tailers like Entertainment Earth.
